Imagination Library Status

Sept 16, 2023 Tom attended the Germantown Court Days event which had 200 outside vendors and kids things to do. Gave 2 signup sheets out, 2 mothers said no and everyone else was signed up. Not very productive!


August 23, 2023 Tom attended the Taylor Elementary Open House and enrolled 10 and 2 in Falmouth. 343, 93 graduated.


August 20, 2023 Tom setup table at Back to School event at park. 4 enrolled.

332, 93 graduated.

August 12, 2023 Tom attended Rock The Block event in Brooksville. Set up a table for enrollment and also walked the area to find kids. 16 and 2 in Falmouth signed up. Well worth the 1PM - 5 effort. 324 enrolled, 93 graduated.


May 4, 2023 Tom attended Kids Fest at Maysville Community Collège. Setup table and signed up 8 kids, 4 outside of Bracken County though. Mason County had table adjacent and we're on fire with signups! 290 enrolled.


September 17, 2022 Tom attended the Germantown kids/political outside event. Walked around to families with kids and signed up 2 in Bracken and 2 in Robertson county.

276 enrolled.


September 1, 2022 Tara Boling/Tom Burke attended Taylor Elementary Preschool Open House and signed up 21 kids on the spot. Wow! 265 enrolled!


August 20, 24 Rock the Block event and Taylor Elementary Open House. Tara Boling attended both and signed up 7 kids at Taylor event. Rock the Block was rainy but 2 were signed up!


July 26, 2022 First meeting of newly formed Bracken County Imagination Library Committee. FRYSC, Brooksville Day Care Center, Bracken County Library and Augusta Rotary are members. Great first meeting focusing on enrollment at this time.


July 18, 2022 Tom and Roger attended 2-day state wide Dolly Parton affiliate training in Louisville. Received standup, big flyer and box of books for attending. Worth $200.


June 3, 2022 $3546 received from AISD, Lisa McCane, from the schools Dolly Parton Read-A-Thon!!!!!


May 26, 2022 Final solicitation letter donation received. $3000 donated from 36 people with 140 letters mailed.

May 24, 2022 Email 24 recent enrollees and asked how they heard of the program. 2 from Jackie McMurrin and 2 from Bracken County Library. One of these said she just posted info on her Facebook page but didn't respond to tell me how to get there.


May 9, 2022 Created a Facebook Contest which allows anyone to name a parent of a potential preschooler. 6 people entered signup info.


May 2, 2022 Sent enrollment packets to all 31 churches in Bracken County. 147 enrolled.


April 7, 2022 EXPANDED COVERAGE TO ALL BRACKEN COUNTY!

After receiving a substantial donation from the Bracken County Public Library, and generous donations from many members of the community, we have met our 2022 fundraising goal and made this available to all of the 600+ eligible preschoolers in Bracken County.


April 1, 2022 Mailed solicitation letters out.


March 28, 2022 90 enrolled. Mailed Solicitation letters.


March 13, 2022 88 enrolled. 214 books mailed. $3399 total in donations towards our $8000 goal.


March 5 2022. Pancake Breakfast fund raiser. Dina/Tom/Marilyn Lustik worked the crowd and raised $1173. Plus another (3) $100 checks given at door = $1473 total not counting profits. Great fundraiser event. With the Pancake Breakfast profits of $1083, this totals $2556 towards the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.


March 3, 2022. 86 enrolled, $1675 donations and 217 books mailed.


Feb 12, 2022 Dedicating the profits from our upcoming March 5 Rotary Pancake Breakfast to DPIL.


80 enrolled, $500 donation total.

Jan 28, 2022 Front page community article in Maysville Ledger Newspaper!


Jan 28, 2022 Day 12 after Launch and things have quieted down.

20 signups the first 3 days and only 3 more after that. 73 signups at this point.


Received 2 online anonymous donations and one from the AISD school Staff.


Call yesterday from the Ledger where they feel this is important big news and will run an article in next Saturdays paper.
